➢ SG farming Pty ltd chicken farm is established by a passionate, committed and young enthusiastic Agri-entrepreneur with strong back ground and experience in the poultry industry. The business started in October 2019 and it was formalized in May 2020. At first, the business started with 30 broiler chickens and now it is breeding plus 400 broiler chickens. The objective of this enterprise is to not only provide nutritious affordable chicken and eggs to community members and local businesses in the rural area of Bergville area and surroundings. The farm will also contribute toward local economic development through the creation of jobs to the previously disadvantaged community members and it aimed to alleviate poverty by providing affordable eggs to the locals. Due to the high demand of eggs, the company decided to tap into egg production, but high capital associated with startup hindered the dream of satisfying the need the farm is located in Acton homes area 11 kilometers from Bergville town along R616 when travelling to ladysmith.
